As our 2025 festival theme is Adaptation: Page to Screen, we are excited to welcome author of novel Nightbitch, Rachel Yoder, to discuss her work following a screening of the adaptation. Nightbitch is an outrageously original novel of ideas about art, power, and womanhood wrapped in a satirical fairy tale. You will want to howl in laughter and recognition. And you should.
Support is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
Nightbitch, starring Amy Adams, follows an artist who pauses her career to be a stay-at-home mum. She seeks a new chapter in her life and encounters just that, when her nightly routine takes a surreal turn and her maternal instincts begin to manifest in canine form.
