THe Sioux City international film festival

Since 2005, the Sioux City International Film Festival has showcased a variety of independent short films from all around the world. Each day of the Festival a different genre of film is featured. Those films in addition to being rated by a panel of judges are also voted on by the audience at the end of each film block. Cash prizes and trophies will be given to the juried selections. Audience Choice winners receive a certificate and the overall audience favorite receives a Siouxette trophy.

Our Mission

Promoting independent films and filmmakers to the people of Sioux City and the surrounding region.

The festival committee is friendly and efficient. They really care which is very refreshing. If you are a filmmaker and get into their festival, I highly recommend attending.

The Siouxland institute of film

The non-profit 501(c)(3) Siouxland Institute of Film, Inc. and its creators have been working for almost two decades to promote independent film in Sioux City and the tri-state region including parts of Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The region has over 130,000 people, and thousands more living nearby. For the 19th year, we will be bringing the Siouxland community together for the Sioux City International Film Festival to promote independent films and filmmakers to the people of Sioux City and the surrounding region.
